About the Junior Job Coach programme
The Junior Job Coach Programme has been produced by learning & teaching experts in organisations from The Netherlands, Austria, Romania, Spain & the United Kingdom.
Early school and college leaving is a big problem across Europe and many students drop out of their vocational programme before completing their work placement. The human and financial cost is substantial.
The Junior Job Coach programme aims to improve the effectiveness and success of work-based learning and apprenticeships by offering students at risk with timely help & advice.
The Junior Job Coach programme also offers excellent leadership opportunities to higher-level students and targeted support for employers to get the best out of work placements and apprenticeships.
What is a Junior Job Coach?
A Junior Job Coach is a Level 3 or above student or apprentice who has successfully undertaken a period of work experience with an employer & has completed a Junior Job Coach Training Programme.
Their role is to support students who may experience difficulties that make them vulnerable of dropping out in the early stages of their apprenticeships & work placements.
Junior Job Coaches go through a training programme that is flexible, can be delivered in different modes, in companies or in college, & also fit different vocational sectors & European systems.
They develop key competences that have been identified by employers & set out in a detailed Competence Framework.
Trained in presentation skills & the innovative use of new forms of communication, the coaches are provided with a Junior Job Coach Certificate on completion of their course.
